I started this journal because I had been dissatisfied with my art skills so since May 28, 2011, I've been on the hunt for material to help me out. PLEASE NOTE: This journal gets UPDATED! So check back every few months or so for anything new! And if you find something useful, please suggest it! If you have your own collection of resource links, please share them!

And if you're browsing this list and encounter a site link that no longer works, let me know.

You want to make a Flash Dress Up Game?But you're not entirely familiar with Flash? WELL FEAR NOT! Deviantart supplies A VAST AMOUNT OF TUTORIALS from people who know and have some fair amount of understanding of what to do.
So I'll help you get started by supplying some information and also recommending a couple very nice and informative tutorials about Flash. Plus don't be discouraged if you suck at drawing in Flash, I provided a fair amount of information for an alternative solution at the end!
What you need:
- Flash* (any kind of Flash where you can write Action Script 2.0... NOT Action Script 3.0, these tutorials cover AS 2.0)
- Time
- Patience
*If you're wondering what kind of Flash I use, I'll tell you. I use a super old school Flash that does the job juuust fine. It's called Macromedia Flash MX, also known as "Flash 6.0 r25" Yuuuup, really old. I've had it since junior year in high school (approx. 5 years). I have Flash Professional CS5, and it looks pretty much the same as Flash 6, so don't worry.

Also found some resources. Lots of people ask me where I get my brushed and tones and what not..I don't actually remember where I got the tones since I got them 3-4 years ago and I make my own Photoshop brushes but I did find some cool stuff while browsing for new stuff.

Flash / Interactive

So I decided to end the year with this little comic I made for a class. I'm really happy with how it turned out. The class really pushed me to make a graphic-novel style story sequence, something I had tried several times before but really lacked the motivation to do. Now I have an understanding of how to get it done so I look forward to planning more comics in the future.

The document explains itself, so I hope it's not too confusing.

I know it's a bit tall, it doesn't even fit my own screen. But I wanted to make sure the details of the comic didn't get lost in a tiny screen. So I guess you'll have to scroll up and down if you have a little screen like me.

JUST TO REITERATE: To see the INFORMATION about a page, you have to HOVER your mouse over the I button. It doesn't click, you can only hover over it.

Also, I know there's quite a few typos. OTL

Ah, finally I found someone who has dreams similar to mine! The "sometimes I'm not even me or not even the same gender, sometimes I'm not human at all" I can totally identify myself with... (I remember being a boy in a futuristic city, a chieftain of a hunters' tribe, a young knight, a phoenix...)

Haha how awesome!

I love the crazy dreams I get, though many times they don't seem so grounded on earth, like I dream about being an alien pretty often, surrounded by alien cities and customs. I don't recall being a mythological creature in my dreams (unless Medusa counts?) but being a phoenix sounds pretty awesome. "HAHA!! I CAN BURST INTO FLAME AND ALL THAT DOES IS TURN ME INTO A BABY. BEAT THAT!"

Also, lol I've dreamed of being a boy in a futuristic city once too.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has a vivid subconscious.
